First Birthday Party Ideas: Call 911, The Cake Is On Fire!

Looking for first birthday party ideas for your baby boy? Here's a neat idea. Every boy, baby or otherwise, I have ever known (by the way, I am one), loves firetrucks, firemen, anything about fire. It's in our genetic makeup. Don't believe me? Ask any man in your life. Dad, brother, whoever.

Nine to one, he tells you that his two secret dark passions are breaking glass and lighting fires. Don't ask me why. I have a psychology degree and I still can't figure it out. All I know is it's genetically hardwired in our brains. Fire = Fun.

Yeah, I know, it's demented, but that's why they call us guys. And your baby boy, I'm sorry to say, is no exception. He is a guy in training now and his true love for the dancing flame and all things related will show up soon. Perhaps at his first birthday party.

So, in the spirit of firefighter wannabes everywhere, I found a neat theme at Partymerchant.com. Here's a game they recommend:

Bucket Brigade
Place a tub of water between two evenly divided teams. Have each team member scoop water from the tub with a small bucket and race a short distance where they dump their water into separate tubs. At the end, measure the water in each team's respective "tub" to determine the winner.
There you go. First birthday party ideas for baby boys can often be solved with anything shiny and kind of loud. A firefighter theme is just the ticket.

First Birthday Party Ideas: Cool Games Everyone Will Love

You have your first birthday party idea - the perfect theme. You have the cake, the presents, the parents going gaga. Everything is going great for about 20 minutes. But now what? You start getting the distinct impression that as cute and lovable as everyone thinks your darling is, you're memorable stories are running out of gas.

You need an activity to carry your first birthday party in for a smooth landing. Well you're in luck because I've done a little digging for you and have found a pretty cool site with some great party game ideas specifically for your first birthday extravaganza. Basically, I discovered that since the games are really for the adults and older kids, they are pretty easy to through together. Here are a couple, courtesy of Amazingmoms.com:

"Baby Bottle Bowling, Also a good baby shower game! Fill ten baby bottles with water or rice to make them more stable. Arrange the bottles on the floor like bowling pins. Mark an "X" a reasonable distance from the "pins". Players will take turns trying to get a strike using a ball.

"
You Are So Special Place a current photo of your baby in a cardboard mat frame with a wide edge. Place the photo with acid-free markers or gel pens on a table. Throughout the party invite guests to write a message to the birthday child. You are special because...Happy birthday, Why we love you etc....After the party place this special keepsake in a glass frame and hang it in baby's room!"

I liked these two especially. First birthday party ideas can be a little challenging. But with just a little creativity, you can easily plan activities that are not only fun, but memorable as well.
